Pat Herbst offered a plenary talk titled Collaboration or change: Finding a sustainable stride. He offered the example of GeT: A Pencil as a way in which researchers can collaborate with practitioners by providing consultation and organization support while practitioners identify their goals and mechanisms to work on improving their practice. A video of the talk is available.

The presentation was offered at the closing of the MI-AMTE Conversations Among Colleagues Conference in Kalamazoo, Michigan. MI-AMTE is an affiliate of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and has the goal to promote all aspects of quality mathematics teacher education in Michigan.
