I started teaching geometry for teachers course in 2006 and taught it on and off for the following 10 years. When I first started teaching the course, I had no formal training or knowledge of teaching, other than two workshops I went through as a graduate student and a postdoc. Over those ten years, I worked with many mathematics educators, and taught both mathematics and mathematics methods courses for preservice and inservice teachers. Through conversations with many people and work on two different projects I developed a course which consists of 3 modules. Those modules are meant to address the diverse needs of teachers who will be teaching geometry in secondary schools: mathematics content knowledge, knowledge of the curriculum, and knowledge of students. In this seminar I will describe this course. I will also share some thoughts about the course from the perspective of someone who has been teaching geometry to high school students for the past 4 years.
