an inter-institutional
faculty online learning community of
instructors of geometry courses for teachers
The geometric notion of a pencil of lines (a set of lines with a point in common) represents our community as formed by individuals coming from many institutions and different professional backgrounds (including mathematicians and mathematics educators). We share the interest of improving the geometric preparation of secondary school teachers through stewarding the college geometry courses that future teachers take. This website disseminates our work to the public and seeks to engage fellow travelers.
Joining the Conversation
You can read more about the Student Learning Objectives for Geometry for Teachers courses (GeT SLOs, for short) on this page of the website. Since the GeT SLOs are seen as a living document that will require revision(s), anyone is invited to make suggestions. Please join us in conversation about the SLOs by participating in our community forum.
